The WARDRA project, originally formed as a duo, was the embodiment of the ideas of traditional black metal with an emphasis on primitive mysticism. This concept was implemented in the debut work “Небо медного цвета”. The EP “Ancestor Of The New World” that followed the debut continued the semantic tone of the first album, framed by a more raw and harsh sound. Further transformation led to the emergence of the main creative backbone of the project and its consolidation in the trio format: W and B – responsible for the musical component; K – for the meaning and the voice that conveys it. The search for a new sound continued, as a result - the EP “Aberration Of The Abyss”.
Having moved away from traditional black metal and primitive mysticism, WARDRA decided to go into the endless darkness of space, adding an atmosphere of dark melodicism to the music and expanding the stylistic scope of their work. The next chapter of Wardra was «Страж звёздных склепов» («Warden Of The Stellar Crypts»). This is a story about the death of worlds on the endless fields of nuclear harvest and about a silent witness who will endlessly wander through the carpet of fragments of time, waiting for the beginning of a new world that writhes in endless convulsions of sleep, without hope of awakening. Musically, the album flows from high-speed traditional black metal into the dark melodicism of atmospheric metal with notes of melancholic doom metal, periodically flaring up with the fire of raw anger. The album was recorded in 2023 (drums and percussion at Mindcrusher Labs Studio, vocals at Rofocale Rec, instrumental part at CDM Records, mixing and mastering by Sergei Lazar). Artwork by Rotten Fantom.
