This EP marks a shift in IJdelheid’s sound. The musical palette is broadened, with the sound shifting from purely acoustic instrumentation to electronic beats. Furthermore, the lyrics are decidedly more esoteric and are inspired by the work of British occultist and artist Austin Osman Spare (1886 – 1956). The EP’s final track ‘Meadow to Ashes’ is a cover by American Folk band Autumn Shade.

‘Our bodies ache.
This must be the first taste of autumn.
We rest on thinly veiled earth.
That it may last longer than the night.’

For Sanne.
