IJdelheid returns with "Alas, I Am Morbid!" - a follow-up album that steers Ruben Wijlacker's project towards dark folk realms, whilst retaining it's unique macabre and ethereal nature. This release is an introspective and dichotomous journey that sounds equally as heavenly, fragile and intricate as it does gloomy, sombre and subdued. Dreamy vocals float upon neo-folkesque guitars in an atmosphere enhanced by additional instrumentation and exquisite production flourishes. The resulting songs are death ballads for the modern era.
